Review
In the new Netflix movie The Christmas Chronicles, Kurt Russell plays a bright-eyed Santa Claus. Along with plenty of other great cameos Russel bring to life St. Nick in a fun and exciting new way. Kurt Russel seems to be made for the part of this fun, young, and lively adaptation of Santa. He hits the Gym everyday and never says Ho Ho Ho. Clad in a leather coat this Santa’s not afraid to break a rule here and there in order to save the day. like most other Santa based movies Russell knows everyone name and everything they’ve ever wished for, he helps people believe in the spirit of Christmas again. Finding himself in jail Santa and his fellow prisoners the E-street band and the disciples of soul, Santa performs an impressive Elvis impersonation to bring the entire jail to life and persuade the cops to release him. Russel as Santa Claus makes the entire movie, without him it surely wouldn’t be as spirited and lighthearted.
The entire movie was a breath of fresh air, it is one of the best Christmas themed movies to be released in the last couple of years. The movie is a bit cheesy, but isn’t that what we want from a classic Santa based movie. The story though upbeat has a meaningful undertone and teaches children a valuable lesson. No matter how old you get and how many struggles you face you must always believe, believe not only in the spirit of Christmas but believe in yourself.
Though every movie has mixed reviews, The Christmas Chronically seems to have Predominately positive audience feed back. Critics don’t all favor this new holiday flick but Netflix viewers cant get enough. They argue that its a breath of fresh air and one of the better Christmas movies to come out in the last few years. Put the Netflix holiday film The Christmas Chronicles on your list of movies for your personal 25 days of Christmas.
